IFPRI Nourishing Millions project: Researching, writing & disseminating stories of
success in nutrition

As practitioners, policymakers, and other decisionmakers grapple with implementing nutrition-relevant programs to accelerate and scale up impact on the ground, they are seeking guidance on how to improve nutrition in real world contexts. Well-documented stories of how to generate and scale up nutrition successes at the national, regional and community levels are urgently needed.

The solution

The International Food Policy Research Institute’s (IFPRI) Nourishing Millions: Stories of Change in Nutrition project brought together several narratives of change – of country-level progress, of successful programmes and interventions. Independent consultant on project, involved in literature review to identify key nutrition success stories; lead author on chapters on Infant & Young Child Feeding, Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and obesity; & communications’ activities to promote Nourishing Millions (panelist at UK launch event; blogs and IYCF video for website).
